The Bachelor of Education (Teaching of English as Second Language -TESL) programme is designed to give students academic and technical skills in broad areas. The programme combines the precise training in methods of teaching English and practice with the analytical tools of education. It teaches students a wide range of skills that are valuable for careers in government schools, private schools, and international educational organizations.

Entry Requirements
In order to be eligible, candidates should have fulfilled the relevant minimum qualifications indicated under one of the following three categories.
Category (1)
(a) Sri Lankan GCE AL: A minimum of 3 "S" passes in any 3 approved AL subject
OR
(b) Cambridge/Edexcel AL: A minimum of 3 "E" passes in any subject.
Category (2)
Those without 3 AL passes as indicated in category (1) (a) OR (1)(b) but sat for AL examination AND successful completion of Lincoln Foundation in Arts (10 months)
Category (3)
GCE OL 6 passes including Maths and successful completion of Lincoln Foundation in Arts (12 months)

Credit transfer for registration at 3rd year:
Pearson Higher National Diploma/SQA Advanced Diploma or any other Diploma in relevant field to be considered on case by case basis in consultation with Lincoln University
